Jobs In Sports helps people find their dream jobs in the sports industry, from sports journalism to marketing to management.
Our installment this month:
SEO Updates for 2017:
Google will be making a lot of updates in 2017. We’ve written about the importance of mobile traffic before, and the trend continues. If you’re not optimized for mobile search, get started now: it’s surpassing desktop traffic, and having a good mobile user experience is paramount to staying relevant. Social media also continues to get smarter, and many big social media platforms are making changes to their algorithms to help you find what you’re looking for as well. Optimizing around good content is one of your strongest weapons: both Google and social media platforms love to see high-quality optimized content.
Working With an SEO Company:
Jobs In Sports will attest to the fact that a lot of businesses don’t have the time to do their own SEO work, because you’re busy running your own businesses. Working with an SEO company takes a big load off of your shoulders, and brings in expert advice about optimization to give you an edge over your competitors. You can’t do it alone, so get help from an expert.
Getting a Job In Sports:
The sports industry can be tough to break into, especially working your way up to those top-level sports management and marketing positions. Jobs In Sports’ advice: start with an internship, and start looking in college if you can. The earlier you jump on it, the easier it will be. Even if you have to accept a position low on the totem pole, it gets your foot in the door and you can start working your way toward your dream job.
Social Media SEO Strategies:
We know that social media is big, and that’s not going anywhere in 2017. Platforms keep rolling out new ways to share your content, and a lot of them are already taking off: Snapchat is huge, and Facebook Live is making a big splash. Users really like content that makes them feel more connected to the people at your business, that gives them a look at who you are and what you’re about. There’s speculation that Twitter will decline in importance, though it’ll likely stick around as a useful tool.
